Services for Current and Retired Employees

Because of COVID-19, the UFV Libraries are open for limited services only, but we are making most of our physical collections available to employees. Use our Requesting Library Materials flowchart to find out how to request items. Book drops are open 24 x 7 for returning items; items will be placed in quarantine for a period of time before being checked in - any fines accrued during this time will be cleared from your account. If you still need the library items, please renew them or contact the library if you need assistance.

For other library service updates related to COVID-19, please see the UFV Library Blog.

Services on this page apply to current and retired employees, as well as adjunct faculty, visiting scholars, and research associates.

Your Library Card

Your Campus Card is your library card.

Use your library card to:

Adjunct Faculty, Visiting Scholars, and Research Associates

Adjunct Faculty can obtain a campus card from the Campus Card Office (S1101). Visiting Scholars and Research Associates can obtain a library card from the Library Service Desk. Adjunct Faculty, Visiting Scholars and Research Associates receive the same library services as current employees. For off-campus access to journals, databases, and e-books, you will need to request access through your host department at UFV. Contact Diane Cruickshank for more information.

Retired Staff and Faculty

Retired employees with Emeritus or Honorary Status may contact Diane Cruickshank to obtain off-campus access to journals, databases, and e-books. Details on Emeritus and Honorary Status are provided in the Collective Agreement, Sections 34.6 and 34.7.

Borrowing from the Library

Be sure to review general information and policies on renewals, returning items, holds and transfers, overdue items, and paying fines. You must pay all outstanding library fines at the beginning of each semester in order to renew your library privileges.
