Your Library Card

Members of the public, as well as students and employees studying or working at another post-secondary institution in Canada (reciprocal borrowers) may request a Community Borrower card.

  • Members of the public must provide proof of B.C. residence; card holders must be at least 18 years of age. New community borrowers will be charged a $5 card fee.
  • Reciprocal borrowers must provide proof of enrolment or employment at a reciprocal-borrowing institution. There is no card fee.
  • Cards can be issued in the Chilliwack and Abbotsford libraries, from 30 minutes after opening until 30 minutes prior to closing.
  • Cards are valid for a 4-month period from the date of issue.
  • Cards may be renewed after verification of contact information, providing that there are no outstanding loans and all fines have been paid.
