Course Reserves

About Course Reserves

Course reserves allow faculty to make required and supplemental course readings available to students all in one place. The library's course reserve pages collate library- and faculty-owned print, video, and digital materials, student-authored works, and faculty-authored materials (print or digital) together in one place.

Physical materials, including books, DVDs and videos, photocopies, and more have shorter loan periods, to maximize availability to students. These loan periods cover a range from from 2 hours to 7 days; materials on 2- or 4-hour loans may be restricted to in-library use only.

Copying Guidelines

As of Fall 2012, UFV operates under the Fair Dealing Requirements and other user rights under the Copyright Act.

In order to ensure that everyone is aware of what this means, faculty will be required to provide written acknowledgement of copyright compliance when placing items on reserve.

For more information, please refer to UFV's Copyright Guide.
