Private Online Desks (PODs)

Bookable PODs are available for individual student use in the Abbotsford Library.

UFV also has PODs on the both Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses that are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Abbotsford Library

The Abbotsford Library has 3 bookable PODS.

PODs may only be booked and used by UFV students who are currently taking classes.
Only the student who made the booking can use the POD. Only one person per POD at one time.
PODs are small booths that are intended to be used by students who are participating in online classes and need a quiet and private place.
PODs may not be booked for instruction, tutoring, exams, meetings, or other similar uses.
Students are limited to one booking per day. PODs are booked in 30 minute blocks, up to a maximum of 3 hours at a time. Consecutive reservations are not permitted.
Bookings are required in order to use a POD and are booked online.
Booking descriptions must be respectful, or your booking will be cancelled.
Bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis.
POD reservations can start on the hour or on the half hour.
Students may reserve a POD up to 7 days in advance.
If a student does not show up for their booking within 10 minutes of the start time, the POD may be assigned to another user. Please ask for assistance at the Library Service Desk.
Library staff monitor bookings, and we reserve the right to cancel bookings that do not comply with our policies.

If you do not intend to use a POD, please cancel your booking.
If you do not intend to use the POD that you booked, please cancel your booking.
Only the student who made the POD reservation can cancel it prior to the reservation start time.
Once the reservation start time has passed, only library staff can cancel a reservation. Please ask for assistance at the Library Service Desk.

Headphones are required.
PODs are not soundproof. When using PODs please respect and adhere to the noise policies of the zone in which the POD is situated. For example, the second floor of the Abbotsford Library is a Quiet Zone. See the library's policies on Noise in the Library and Conduct in the Library.
Covered beverage containers are permitted. Eating is not allowed in any part of the library, including in the PODs. Please see the library's policy on Food and Drink in the Library for details.
Students should leave the POD in good order, including removing all waste and personal belongings. Personal items left behind will be sent to Lost and Found (Campus Security Abbotsford B120).
Library materials will be cleared and reshelved on a daily basis.
