On April 1, we're moving to a new Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system called Tipasa.
Tipasa offers all of the same features and functions as our current system, Relais, as well as the ability to use UFV's authetication systems.
In November 2025, we learned that our current system, Relais, will face its end of life on June 30, 2026. Since ILL is a core service that allows us to provide resources we don't currently have available in our collections, we needed to find a new system. Tipasa is an alternative that is provided by the same company as Relais, but that offers a more modern interface and features.
When you access our ILL forms or log in to the Tipasa portal, you'll see a different look, and the logo will identify the system as Tipasa.
Most of the time, you'll submit your ILL requests using forms available through Find It and our databases. The forms will look different, but will require the same information from you (e.g., course number, need by date, copyright acknowlegement) as the current forms do.
In the Tipasa portal, you'll still be able to see the progress on your current requests, and you'll also be able to view past requests.
You'll also be able to interact with our ILL staff, request renewals, and cancel requests.
And you'll still receive email notifications when your items are available for pickup, articles are available for download, and your items are due.
An exciting new feature is the ability to receive notifications through SMS. You'll have to enter your phone number into the system (through the Tipasa portal) and check a box to receive these notifications, and then you're ready to go.
With Tipasa, you'll log in using the same credentials (username and password) as you do with MyUFV, MyClass (Brightspace) and other UFV systems. No more need to use your Library PIN.
