Read the Donation Guidelines

The Library's Guidelines for Donations will assist you in making an informed decision regarding a potential donation.

Complete the Donation Review Form

The Library is not able to automatically accept donations, and undertakes an initial screening of the materials on offer whenever possible before materials are delivered to the Library. A screening can be done over the phone; however, it is preferable that the Donation Review Form be completed either online or by picking up a paper copy from the Library. The information requested on the Donation Review Form is extremely helpful to the Library in its consideration of donation offers. Donors are contacted as soon as possible to be informed of which materials the Library is able to accept for further examination.

Deliver Requested Materials

Donated materials are received with the understanding that upon acceptance, they become the property of the Library with no special restrictions, requirements or conditions imposed. After individual examination, donated items may be added to the library collection. If not, they may be put in the Library book sale (with proceeds going to the purchase of Library materials), offered to another UFV department or another institution, recycled or discarded. Materials not accepted can be returned to the donor if this request is indicated on the Donation Agreement.

Complete the Donation Agreement Form

Complete the Donation Agreement Form form, indicating if you would like:
a)  a tax receipt for your donation
b)  to pick up materials not accepted for the Library collection

The Library greatly appreciates the generosity of donors. If requested, the UFV Finance Office will provide a tax receipt accompanied by a letter of acknowledgement for donations.
